United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is exploring improvements and enhancements to visual augmentation systems and related auxiliary technologies, with the overall goal of establishing “optical dominance” in future tactical settings.

The effort, which could also include Augmented and Virtual Reality solutions for Head's Up Displays and fusion of disparate data sources into a common visual display, is the subject of an upcoming industry day event that will be held 14 November 2018 at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory

The event will be conducted in partnership with the Department of Defense Rapid Reaction Technology Office (RRTO) Innovation Outreach
