USSOCOM looks to future helicopter cockpit

US Special Operations Command is exploring industry capabilities for a “next generation Special Operations Aviation cockpit.” Command interest in related industry capabilities was expressed in a 19 June 2019 special notice released by USSOCOM’s PEO for Rotary-Wing (PEO-RW).

According to the announcement, PEO-RW is working together with SOFWERX to develop a Capability Collaboration Event (CCE) in mid-July, beginning a multi-phase event process to identify the next generation SOF aviation cockpit hardware and software for SOF variant legacy and Future Vertical Lift platforms.

The notice adds that the event “will ensure state of the art technology informs future cockpit management
