USSOCOM looks to 5G communications
Representatives from USSOCOM are exploring new tactical capabilities that could be provided by the application of so-called fifth generation (5G) mobile networks. One glimpse at these new capabilities will take place later this month at the SOFWERX facility in Tampa, Florida.
As part of that, the facility hosts a series of events, ranging from computer programme ‘hackathons’ to new technology demonstrations.
Over the next week, SOFWERX and USSOCOM representatives will be sending out industry invitations to the next major demonstration: a 5G capability assessment event (CAE). The invitations are based on industry responses to an initial announcement released in early
