USSOCOM looks to 5G communications

Representatives from USSOCOM are exploring new tactical capabilities that could be provided by the application of so-called fifth generation (5G) mobile networks. One glimpse at these new capabilities will take place later this month at the SOFWERX facility in Tampa, Florida.

As part of that, the facility hosts a series of events, ranging from computer programme ‘hackathons’ to new technology demonstrations.
