USASOC looks to expanded convoy training

In the aftermath of the 4 October 2017 convoy attack that resulted in the deaths of four American special operators and four partner Nigerien Soldiers, US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) has identified the need for both basic and advanced courses on Military Mobile Force Protection Training (MMFPT).

Under a sources sought announcement released on 25 July, USSOCOM representatives identified a USASOC requirement for a program of instruction “that utilizes current combat, or other high risk operational threat profiles, that are continually increasing in difficulty based on student ability to find, fix, and eliminate the enemy threat throughout all training
