Special warfare applications for Wave Glider

Naval customers and Liquid Robotics are considering a variety of ‘special warfare applications’ for the next-generation Wave Glider unmanned surface vessel (USV), company officials have disclosed.

Speaking to Shephard at the Defence & Security Exhibition International (DSEI) event in London on 13 September, executive vice president at Boeing subsidiary Liquid Robotics, Daniel Middleton, confirmed how the US Naval Special Warfare Command (NSW) for example, could ‘benefit from this technology’ type.

Wave Glider is designed as an enduring and mobile sensor-hosting platform capable of ‘operating over long durations in the open ocean’, according to company literature.
