SOFIC 2018: USSOCOM embraces hackers and makers
USSOCOM has embraced the potential involvement of so-called “hackers” and “makers” in an accelerated acquisition process. Hacker and maker involvement feeds the process through the activities of SOFWERX.
Speaking in a general session forum, Tambrien Bates, Director of SOFWERX, encouraged the audience to view it as “a platform,” offering analogies to several growing commercial enterprises.
He characterized the SOFWERX platform as being designed “to increase collaboration and innovation to the benefit of the warfighter, helping solve some of those challenging problems.”
