Japan to set up DARPA-style institute to tackle evolving threat of cyber warfare
Japan’s Ministry of Defense is devoting government-level effort and funding to tackling the growing problem of cyber warfare.
The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has awarded Mustang Survival a $7 million contract for its Maritime Assault Suit System (MASS) programme, service officials have announced.
Awarded on 29 March by the Program Manager – SOF Survival, Support and Equipment Systems (PM-SOF SSES), the MASS programme is aimed at providing US Navy SEAL Teams, as well as other force components, with dry suit technology allowing for maritime operations as well as environmental transition into shipborne, land and airborne domains. The RFP for the MASS concept was launched in January 2016.
