US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has released a draft Request for Proposals (RfP) for the smallest form factor variant in its next-generation Satellite Deployable Node- Family of Systems (SDN-FoS) concept.
Published on 3rd May 2017, the draft document describes the requirement for an 'SDN-Lite' terminal for satellite communications (SATCOM) which will be no more than a single metre in diameter. Specific requirements are still being drawn up by USSOCOM ahead of an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract expected to be worth up to USD75 million.
