SOF looks to resistance support campaigns

US Special Operations Forces must consider how to further evolve doctrine and concepts of operations relating to Support to Resistance (STR) campaigns, a research paper published by the US Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) has suggested.

According to the “Support to Resistance: Strategic Purpose and Effectiveness” report, published on 2nd May by the Tampa-based organization, recent operational experience indicates special operations forces must maintain “traditional wartime unconventional warfare skills” while also exploring the dynamics of modern resistance.
