Japan to set up DARPA-style institute to tackle evolving threat of cyber warfare
Japan’s Ministry of Defense is devoting government-level effort and funding to tackling the growing problem of cyber warfare.
Russian special operations forces will benefit from “consistent reinforcement and development” in 2019 and beyond, according to a speech made by President Vladimir Putin on 27th February.
Speaking at an event to mark Russia’s Special Operations Forces Day in Moscow, Putin stated: “Our efforts in this area are strictly defensive and aimed at unconditionally ensuring Russia’s security and protecting its sovereignty and national interests.”
Highlighting how investments would be made to support army and navy special operations forces, Putin also used the event to claim Russian special operations activities remained a “purely defensive” endeavor.
