US Naval Special Warfare seeks new tactical wetsuits

US Naval Special Warfare Command is interested in wetsuit designs capable of insulating operators during underwater transit while strong enough to withstand follow-on tactical environments. 

An overview of the desired wetsuit design was provided in a “sources sought” announcement released on 26 November.

According to the announcement, program planners are seeking a “commercial-off-the-shelf wetsuit consisting of a custom fit neoprene garment, repair kit with instructions, and use and care manual, which can be used as a diving ensemble for Naval Special Warfare (NSW) personnel in undersea environments as well as land application in the tactical environment.
