NATO country selects Safran’s JIM Compact
Safran Electronics and Defense’s JIM Compact multifunction infrared binocular has been selected by an undisclosed NATO country, the company announced on 21 November.
JIM Compact is designed to provide situational awareness and connectivity for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance missions, including sniper, close air support and fire support missions.
The binocular weighs less than 2kg, including the battery, with long range and advanced battlefield connectivity, to meet users' size, weight, power and run-time requirements. It has an intuitive ergonomic design, low-light sensor, cooled infrared and daytime sensors and pointer and laser designator displays.
