Kazakhstan Special Forces receive Arlans
Paramount Group, in partnership with Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering, has delivered a new batch of Arlan armoured vehicles to the Kazakhstan Special Forces, the company announced on 14 December.
The vehicles will be deployed with the Ministry of Defence, Special Forces and other law enforcement agencies.
The Arlan is the localised variant of Paramount Group’s Marauder MRAP multi-role vehicle. The vehicle has undergone testing in extreme conditions and environments across Kazakhstan and work to fully ‘winterise’ the vehicles.
The winterisation of the Arlan included additional heating of the crew cabin, changing specifications of all fluids, lubricants and fuels to an all season type covering a range of 100 degrees Celsius from minus 50 to plus 50 degrees Celsius and heated ballistic windows.
The vehicles are equipped with auxiliary equipment including special communication suites, roof mounted wire cutting blades and a barricade breaker blade mounted to the front of the vehicle which is hydraulically operated from the driver station. Night vision equipment, infra-red cameras, laptop station and GPS are also installed.
The company has already started production on the next order for Arlans with further deliveries expected during 2018.
