Global SOF 2018: “Risk perception” impacts European SOF aviation development

One of the challenges encountered in the ongoing development and expansion of special operations aviation elements across many regions involves differences in “risk perception” that exist between conventional pilots and special operations units in some tactical scenarios.

That was one of the observations reported by international representatives at this week’s Global Special Operations Forces Symposium, held in Tampa, Florida by the Global SOF Foundation.

While participating in a panel presentation focused on “Building SOF Aviation,” Lt Col Jaroslaw Kuzinski, Commander of the Polish Special Operations Air Task Group, highlighted the different approaches to risk that were recognized in the establishment
