Brokk offers COTS robot for SOF applications

Representatives from Brokk Inc. cite recent USSOCOM calls for expanded COTS solutions to tough problems in their decision to display their Brokk 120D system at this week’s “Modern Warfighting Symposium,” co-sponsored by the Global SOF Foundation and US Army Special Operations Command.

“It’s the world’s smallest demolition robot,” explained Tony Marlow, vice president of nuclear and military programs. 

Speaking to Shephard at the Ft. Bragg event, Marlow explained that the diesel-powered hydraulic system has a longer run time than battery operated designs.

“It’s very, very powerful," he said, adding that the front arm can lift 1500lbs [680kg]
