While Gotland slips out, A26 efforts ramp up

As the Royal Swedish Navy continues sea trials of the newly upgraded HMS Gotland submarine, Saab, tasked with both that upgrade effort as well as the build of the future A26 submarines, said work was ‘ramping up’ on the latter programme.

As earlier reported, crews working up towards the introduction of the A26 conventional submarines to the Royal Swedish Navy (RSN) expect to be familiar with 50% of its systems once it enters service.

The upgraded Gotland class has commonality of around 20 systems that will be fitted to the two boats of the A26 class, Blekinge and Skåne
