USN orders 7m RIBs
Ribcraft USA is to build 7m RIBs for the USN, in addition to the 48 11m boats it is already providing under a previous contract.
In all, 132 of the 7m boats will be initially provided under a $36.61 million contract from Naval Sea Systems Command, announced on 13 August.
Ultimately, the USN intends to obtain 278 of these boats from Ribcraft USA, raising the overall value of the contract to $78.24 million.
Work under the first order will be performed in Marblehead, Massachusetts, for completion by March 2023.
