US doubles its presence in the Middle East to de-escalate tensions in the region

The Pentagon has increased its naval and aerial assets in the area due to Houthi and Hezbollah attacks.

The US is doubling its presence in the Middle East due to recent Houthi militants’ attacks in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, as well as the Lebanese Hezbollah offensive against Israel last weekend.

The USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (CSG 9), which was already on station in the region, was joined by USS Abraham Lincoln (CSG 3) with the goal of reducing tensions in the area and beefing up supporting to Jerusalem.

The US Department of Defense (DoD) announced that on 25 August the USS Theodore Roosevelt would have its stay extended in the area while the USS
