IMDEX Asia: Defence Minister warns of maritime challenges

Singapore’s Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen outlined the maritime security challenges facing Asia as he officially opened the 2015 IMDEX Asia exhibition yesterday.

During his speech, Dr Ng said countries in the Asia-Pacific region have to address three challenges to prevent disruption to trade routes. These include maritime territorial disputes, the threat of maritime terrorism, and piracy and sea robbery.
