Second OPV for Royal Thai Navy

The Royal Thai Navy will receive a second 90m OPV after BAE Systems confirmed they had signed a new contract with Bangkok Dock for the licenced production of the vessel.

The OPV is based on the same design as the Amazonas-class vessels operated by Brazil, the River-class Batch 2 being constructed for the UK Royal Navy and an earlier vessel built under licence for the Royal Thai Navy.

Differing from its counterparts, the Royal Thai Navy opted to include a 76mm gun in its final configuration for HTMS Krabi, which was commissioned in 2013. The exact fitting
