Russian Navy frigate commissioned
The official acceptance of the Russian Navy’s newest frigate, Admiral Makarov, took place on 27 December at the Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia.
Admiral Makarov was built under the navy's Project 1135.6 at the Yantar Shipyard. The Admiral Grigorovich classfrigate has a length of 124 metres, displacement of over 4,000 tons, and an endurance of 30 days.
The frigate's construction began in February 2012 and the vessel was floated out in September 2015.
