Russia increases Project 22800 corvette order

The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has placed an order for six new small corvettes intended for the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet.

Four Project 22800 Karakurt vessels will be built at the Amur Shipyards in Komsomolsk on Amur, with the last one slated for hand over in 2026. Two more examples will be built at Vostochnaya Verd shipyard in Vladivostok, set to be completed by 2023.

Contract price was not been disclosed at the time of signature during the Army-2018 defence exhibition held in Kubinka near Moscow from 21 to 26 August.
