UK sets out naval Directed Energy Weapon roadmap
As the UK continues to evaluate the military potential of Directed Energy Weapons (DEW), specific naval applications will soon be explored through Project Tracey, a maritime-focused effort that is part of Team Hersa, the UK MoD’s centre of excellence for laser and radio frequency DEW.
On 21 July an MoD announcement revealed that Team Hersa would be releasing an Expression of Interest request for Project Tracey through the Weapons Sector Research Framework (WSRF).
