Egypt expects imminent delivery of more ex-Saudi vessels
German shipbuilder Lürssen is in the process of delivering several patrol vessels to the Egyptian Navy, which has contracted for two types of patrol vessels totalling 10 hulls.
On January 24, the 60m coastal patrol vessel (CPV) Abd Barral-Seddeq (ex-Al Riyadh, pennant number 710) and two 40m coastal patrol boats (CPBs) with pennant numbers 705 and 706 were floated into the large semi-submersible dockship Rolldock Sun at the port of Mukran. The three patrol vessels had arrived at Mukran on 19-20 January from the Lürssen Peene Werft shipyard in Wolgast.
