China supports Sudanese patrol boat upgrade
The Sudanese Navy has upgraded at least two of its three Chinese-built P41S-type patrol boats with new weaponry.
Imagery posted by the navy on social media shows that new forward gun mounts have been installed on two of the 41m-long patrol vessels, including one with the pennant number PC411.
Technicians from the China State Shipbuilding Corporation worked in the boats in Port Sudan, before leaving in late December 2020.
While the guns were kept under shrouds (pictured), their outline resembles the Norinco CS/AN2 30mm gun mount. They replace a long-barrelled 37mm Chinese gun mount or a 40mm Bofors gun mount
