The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) is set to imminently receive its largest OPV, the Chinese-built PMSS Kashmir, after it departed China on 26 July.

Built at Haungpu Wenchong Shipyard near Guangzhou, the 1,550t Kashmir (pennant number 143) made port calls in Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka en route to Pakistan. The ship had been commissioned on 20 July at Huangpu.

Kashmir is the first of two 1,500t OPVs acquired by the PMSA under a June 2015 deal with China Shipbuilding & Trading Company (CSTC). The second is being built in Pakistan at the Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works
