Plasan to armour UK’s Type 26 frigates
Plasan has signed a contract with BAE Systems for the armouring of the Royal Navy’s Type 26 Global Combat Ships, the company announced on 28 February.
The production of armour for the first three ships is expected to start in 2018.
The new Type 26 Global Combat Ships are replacing the eight anti-submarine frigates of the Duke class currently in service with the Royal Navy.
