New Zealand bones up on RHIBs

Babcock NZ released an RfI on 21 May for the future replacement of the Royal New Zealand Navy’s (RNZN) current fleet of rigid-hulled inflatable boats (RHIB).
The RNZN is seeking to renew the RHIB fleet that currently consists of nine Zodiac Hurricane and 26 Zodiac Milpro J3 types. However, the tender document made no mention of how many RHIBs the navy is seeking.
Babcock is the maritime strategic partner of the New Zealand Defence Force, delivering maintenance, repair, overhaul and project support activities. The company is in charge of this tender process.
