NAVSEA announces Mk-48 Mod 7 support contract
FMS customers Australia and Taiwan are included in the latest Mk-48 Mod 7 heavyweight torpedo support contract for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
However, most of the work under the $84.82 million modification (from US Naval Sea Systems Command – NAVSEA) involves the supply of All Up Rounds to the USN (93%).
SAIC will complete the work by April 2023.
Taiwan has also requested 18 MK-48 Mod 6 torpedoes and related equipment in an FMS deal worth $180 million, the US State Department reported in May 2020.
