Lockheed Martin and Austal secure LCS contracts

Lockheed Martin and Austal USA have been awarded contract modifications to build additional littoral combat ships (LCS) for the US Navy.

The value of both contracts is under the 2017 congressional cost cap of $584 million per ship, although the US Department of Defense stated the specific award amount for the ships is considered 'source selection sensitive information' and would 'not be made public at this time'.
