Indo Defence 2016: Big ships on stream for PT Pal

The Malaysian MoD has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesian shipbuilder PT Pal for the procurement of a multi-role support ship.

Turitan Indargo, director of shipbuilding at PT Pal, told Shephard that this was just in the initial discussions phase but they would like something similar to the Strategic Sealift Vessels that the company is building for the Philippine Navy.

He added that in late October they had visited the UAE because the country is interested in big ships like the Landing Platform Dock that PT Pal has built for the Indonesian Navy.
