IMDEX Asia: Hercules all at sea

Lockheed Martin is expecting that it will have its first customer for its Sea Herc concept in the near future.

Speaking at IMDEX Asia, business development principal for the Lockheed Martin’s Mission Systems and Training business confirmed that the company was in negotiations with two customers to develop the concept.

The SC-130 Sea Herc concept marries the capabilities of the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft with the company’s Artamis maritime mission system, which draws on Lockheed Martin’s extensive experience with the P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft.

The aim of the Sea Herc is to deliver an extensible maritime mission capability
