IDEX 2017: Yemen conflict impacting regional defence needs (video)

The conflict in Yemen is having an impact on the defence requirements of GCC members and others in the region as battle wear, supplies and material support all become factors.

Michael Stephens, head of RUSI Qatar, spoke with Shephard about the conflict and its effect on security in the region, particularly at sea. Meanwhile efforts to integrate defence planning, strategy and procurement in the GCC continue, such as in missile defence, although more still needs to be done.
