IMDEX Asia: First Indian pavilion at event

India formed its first pavilion at this year’s IMDEX Asia, and it features three government-owned shipyards, all of which are engaged in building ships for the Indian Navy (IN).

Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL), based in Mumbai, has a workforce of some 8,700. It is building three Project 15A (Kolkata class) destroyers, four Project 15B (Visakhapatnam class) destroyers and four 17A (an improved Shivalik class) frigates, as well as six Scorpene-class submarines.
