First Improved Kilo for the Russian Pacific Fleet launched
The Admiralteyskye Verfy shipyard near St Petersburg, Russia, launched the first Project 636.3 Improved Kilo-class diesel-electric attack submarine for the Russian Pacific Fleet on 28 March.
Named Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (B-274), it is the first of six submarines ordered by the Russian MoD in September 2016. All of these vessels are set for delivery to the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet by 2022.
Delivery is scheduled to take place by the end of November 2019.
