Escribano Mechanical & Engineering has launched the Aspis lightweight RWS, which has suitable for installation on land vehicles and has already been integrated with the Victoria 4t USV developed by fellow Spanish company FERRI.

‘This new collaboration agreement between the two companies represents an ideal solution to enhance security in maritime missions since it allows the detection of standardised NATO targets over 13 km away,’ Escribano noted in a 15 September statement.

The company claims that the 90kg Aspis is the lightest RWS on the market, featuring a 7.62mm M240 automatic gun and a Gatling M134D machine gun.

Aspis includes advanced features present in the Guardian and Sentinel RWSs from Escribano, including two-axis stabilisation, a target tracking system and automatic tracking. Its OTEOS EO sight (also integrated on Victoria) has an uncooled thermal camera, a high-sensitivity visible camera and a laser rangefinder.
