DSEI 2015: Canadian Navy to steady the ship

The Royal Canadian Navy's six Harry DeWolf class offshore patrol vessels will be outfitted with Sagem’s BlueNaute attitude and heading systems, the company announced at the DSEI exhibition on 16 September.

Sagem will supply the systems under a contract from OSI Maritime Systems, with each vessels to be fitted with two BlueNaute systems, for a total of 12 units. The inertial navigation system is based on hemispherical resonator gyro technology from Sagem.

The system is capable of operating in the harsh environmental conditions that will be experienced by the arctic patrol boats on long-duration missions in arctic zones.
