Austal receives additional order for LCS work
Austal USA has received a $14.84 million order from the US Department of Defense to provide services for the Independence-class Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), USS Tulsa, the company announced on 6 August.
The order is against a previously awarded basic ordering agreement. Austal USA will provide engineering and management services in support of work specification development, prefabrication effort and material procurement for the post-shakedown availability for the vessel. The company will also provide advanced planning and material kitting.
The work on the 127m LCS will be complete by August 2019.
