ADAS 2018: HHI cuts steel on second Philippine frigate
Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) hosted a ceremony on 17 September to mark the cutting of steel for the second of two frigates for the Philippine Navy (PN). The event took place at HHI’s Ulsan shipyard, and it followed the cutting of steel for the first ship on 1 May.
The keel of the first 2,600t frigate will be laid in October. After being launched in May next year, it should be delivered to the PN in the second half of 2020. Handover of the second example is slated for the first half of 2021.
