USSOCOM to buy Non-Standard Commercial Vehicles
United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has released its formal request for proposals (RFP) for its next generation of Non-Standard Commercial Vehicles (NSCV).
NSCVs are commercial-based vehicles that are enhanced with mission- specific modifications that include ballistic protection, C4ISR, navigation, and night vision.
The modified platforms provide SOF with a low visibility tactical ground vehicle capability to conduct operations in politically or operationally constrained permissive, semi-permissive, or denied operating environments.
The current fleet of NSCVs has been procured under General Services Administration (GSA) purchase agreements in both armoured and unarmoured configurations.
