BAE Systems has received a contract modification from the US Army for 48 vehicle sets of M109A7 self-propelled howitzers and M992A3 tracked carrier ammunition vehicles, along with spare parts and delivery support.
The $339 million modification was confirmed by BAE Systems on 24 March.
The new systems would enhance the combat capability and readiness of the Army’s Armored Brigade Combat Teams (ABCTs).
As a result of this modification, the total contract value is now $1.5 billion. The combined total of M109A7s and M992A3s will increase to 204.
