Turkish counter-UAV ammunition and multi-calibre rifles on show
Two Turkish defence companies displayed their wares at SHOT Show 2020, unveiling counter-UAV ammunition and a multi-calibre rifle during the event.
Ankara-based Sterling released an ‘Anti-Drone’ variant of its commercial 12 Gauge (18mm) ammunition line that is optimised to target small, hand-launched UAVs available on the open market.
Depending on the configuration used, the effective range of the shell was stated to be between 100 and 150m.
There are three available loads which are intended to be used with in-service law enforcement or military 12 Gauge repeating or manually operated shotguns with corresponding chamber depths.
