Thales Australia announces Jamaica Bushmaster order
Thales Australia will supply 12 Bushmaster vehicles to the Jamaican Defence Force under a new contract announced on 6 December.
Jamaica has signed for the Bushmaster vehicles to be supplied in troop carrier configuration, and they will be equipped with Thales’ SOTAS M2 communication system.
Chris Jenkins, CEO, Thales Australia, said: ‘The Jamaica Defence Force has longstanding interest in Bushmaster, and we are now very pleased to add them as an export customer.
'The Bushmasters are ideally suited for both internal security and humanitarian operations. The inclusion of the support package demonstrates the customer’s trust in us to deliver and maintain an effective capability over several years.’
Thales will also support the vehicles under a five year package to ensure high levels of availability and performance are maintained. Delivery of the vehicles will begin in 2015.
