Thailand shows off VT4s for the first time
Last week the Royal Thai Army (RTA) demonstrated the performance and firepower of its new Norinco VT4 tanks for the first time in an effort to erase negative criticism of the tank’s capabilities since the type was delivered in November.
China calls the VT4 a fourth-generation MBT suitable for modern informatised wars. It has a 125mm gun capable of firing HE, HEAT and APFSDS rounds, plus laser-guided missiles.
Its fire control system has a hunter-killer capability with auto-tracking to search for and track priority targets that are either static or moving.
