Prototype submachine guns for Taiwan
New protoype submachine guns were displayed at the Taipei Aersospace & Defence Technology Exhibition (TADTE) last week.
The state-owned 205th Arsenal of the Material Production Centre (MPC) showed its most advanced development was the 9mm XT104 submachine gun, which officials expect to be ready for production next year.
This weapon is based on the Multi-utilisation Special Rifle (MSR).
A spokesman told Shephard that XT104 tests are ongoing and that 90% of targets have been met to date. The submachine gun is undergoing reliability tests. The 2.83kg XT104 is expected to be fielded by the National Security Bureau in the future, though the arsenal hopes
