Spanish combat vehicle contract nears
Spanish Army plans to replace their old BMR-600 6x6 vehicles (pictured above) are gathering pace as a contract for a new 8x8 vehicle draws closer.
The new 8x8 is known as the Wheeled Combat Vehicle (WCV or VCR in Spain) and a contract is expected before the end of 2015.
Speaking to Shephard at the SMi conference on Vehicle Survivability in London, Col Manual Jesus Del Hoyos Sanches, head of the 8x8 WCV programme said that the Spanish Army was negotiating a contract and that a best case scenario would be a decision before Christmas.
