South Korea set to produce EVO-105
South Korea will begin production of the EVO-105 truck-mounted howitzer next year, the country’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) announced on 28 June.
An upgraded system, which mates what was originally a towed M101A1 105mm howitzer onto a Kia KM500 6x6 truck chassis, has been undergoing final trials. The improvements covered its agility and automated digital fire control system, which is understood to be derived from that of the K9 self-propelled howitzer.
