SOFIC 2015: O’Gara unveils armoured DAGOR
O’Gara has used this year’s Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC), held in Tampa, Florida, to unveil a new ‘Armoured DAGOR’ concept demonstrator vehicle. The design utilises the lightweight DAGOR platform publicly unveiled by Polaris Industries at last October’s Association of the US Army annual meeting.
‘Polaris gave us the vehicle to develop the armour with,’ explained Michael Reynolds, programme and operations manager for transparent armour at O’Gara. ‘We like it because it’s a space frame type of structure; not just a thin-skinned vehicle body. So we don’t have to go in and reinforce the body before we armor it.
