Snow patrol and access all areas: the Arctic all-terrain vehicles market grows

The procurement and planned procurement of articulated tracked all-terrain vehicles is being driven by a need to replace older platforms and an acknowledgement of a capability gap for Arctic regions.
Declared unawarded requirements from Canada, Italy, Norway and Austria for all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and ongoing deliveries to the UK, the US, India, the Netherlands, Singapore and Germany for the same platforms are demonstrating a strong market.
A key factor in the four unawarded requirements is that they are a straight two-horse race between the BAE Systems Hägglunds BvS10 and ST Engineering (ST Engg) Bronco tracked articulated vehicles, with BvS10 the supplier for most ongoing deliveries.
There is a $4 billion-plus market for the unawarded and contracted requirements for 1,820 vehicles over the next 10 years, according to Shephard Defence Insight.
