Russia delivers on Vietnam and Laos tanks
Russia is delivering T-90S and T-72B1 tanks to Vietnam and Laos respectively, fulfilling recent contracts placed by the Southeast Asian countries.
The first batch from the 64 T-90S standard and T-90SK command tanks that Vietnam ordered began shipping from Russia in late 2017. Most of the order has already been delivered, and final delivery is scheduled in 2019. The contract is estimated to be worth about $250 million.
The Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) also upgraded several dozen of its fleet of legacy T-54B MBTs to T-54M3 standard, reportedly with the help of Israeli company Rafael. The work was done in
